A1 LEVEL FRENCH CURRICULUM (DAY 1-25)
Objective: Build a strong basic foundation in French, focusing on pronunciation, essential vocabulary, basic sentence structure, and simple conversations.
Structure: 3 Modules covering Grammar, Vocabulary, and Speaking/Writing Practice
MODULE 1: FRENCH BASICS & FUNDAMENTALS (Days 1-10)
Objective: Learn pronunciation, greetings, numbers, sentence structure, and basic verbs to start forming simple sentences.
Week 1: Introduction to French & Basic Conversations
Day 1: French Alphabet & Pronunciation
- Understanding accent marks (é, è, ê, ç)
- Introduction to common letter combinations (oi, ou, eu, ai, etc.)
- Speaking Practice: Pronouncing basic words
Day 2: Greetings & Self-Introduction
- Basic greetings (Bonjour, Salut, Ça va?)
- Introducing yourself (Je m’appelle…, J’ai … ans, Je suis …)
- Speaking Practice: Short self-introduction
Day 3: Numbers & Days of the Week
- Numbers (0-100)
- Days of the week (lundi, mardi, mercredi…)
- Speaking & Listening Practice: Saying numbers & dates
Day 4: Subject Pronouns & Basic Sentence Structure
- Je, Tu, Il/Elle, Nous, Vous, Ils/Elles
- Simple sentence formation (Subject + Verb + Object)
- Writing Task: Form 5 sentences about yourself
Day 5: Common Verbs: ÊTRE & AVOIR (To Be & To Have)
- Conjugation and usage in sentences
- Speaking Practice: Short sentences with être & avoir
- Mini Quiz: Fill in the blanks with être/avoir
Week 2: Expanding Vocabulary & Forming Sentences
Day 6: Articles & Gender of Nouns
- Definite & indefinite articles (le, la, les, un, une, des)
- Mini Quiz: Identify noun genders
Day 7: Regular -ER Verbs (Present Tense)
- Common verbs (parler, aimer, habiter, regarder, etc.)
- Speaking Practice: Short conversations using -ER verbs
Day 8: Asking Questions & Negative Sentences
- Question words: Qui, Que, Où, Quand, Pourquoi, Comment
- Forming negative sentences (Je ne parle pas français)
- Speaking Practice: Asking & answering simple questions
Day 9: Family & Personal Life Vocabulary
- Talking about family members (mère, père, frère, sœur)
- Writing Task: Write 5 sentences about your family
Day 10: A1 Mini Review & Speaking Practice
- Role-play conversations (introducing yourself, talking about your family)
- Mock Speaking Test: Answer 3 simple questions
- A1 Mini Test: Grammar + Vocabulary
MODULE 2: EVERYDAY CONVERSATIONS & ROUTINES (Days 11-18)
Objective: Learn how to describe daily life, make small talk, and understand simple conversations.
Week 3: Expanding Speaking & Listening Skills
Day 11: Describing People & Things
- Common adjectives (grand, petit, intelligent, beau, gentil, etc.)
- Adjective agreement rules
- Speaking Practice: Describing a person
Day 12: Talking About Daily Activities
- Daily routine verbs (se réveiller, se lever, se coucher, etc.)
- Writing Task: Write about your daily routine (40 words)
Day 13: Expressing Preferences & Feelings
- J’aime, Je préfère, Je déteste, J’adore
- Talking about hobbies & interests
Day 14: Prepositions of Place & Location
- à, en, sur, sous, avec, chez
- Speaking Task: Describe where objects are in a room
Day 15: Basic Shopping & Restaurant Conversations
- Vocabulary for buying food, ordering in a restaurant
- Role-Play Activity: Ordering food at a café
Day 16: Talking About the Weather & Seasons
- Il fait beau, Il pleut, Il neige
- Speaking Practice: Describe today’s weather
Day 17: Giving Directions & Asking for Help
- À gauche, à droite, tout droit, devant, derrière
- Speaking Task: Role-play asking for directions
Day 18: A1 Mid-Level Review & Test

- Listening Task: Understanding a short conversation

MODULE 3: PAST, FUTURE, & TEF INTEGRATION (Days 19-25)
Objective: Introduce past & future tenses, expand vocabulary, and begin TEF-style writing & reading exercises.
Week 4: TEF Preparation Begins!
Day 19: Introduction to Passé Composé (Past Tense)
- Avoir verbs: J’ai mangé, Tu as vu, etc.
- Speaking Task: Describe what you did yesterday
Day 20: Introduction to Futur Proche (Near Future)
- Aller + infinitive: Je vais voyager, Tu vas manger
- Writing Task: Describe your plans for the weekend
Day 21: TEF Writing: Simple Descriptions
- Writing a short paragraph (50 words)
- Describing a place, event, or routine
Day 22: TEF Reading: Understanding Short Texts
- Reading simple news headlines, emails, & messages
- Mini Quiz: Answering multiple-choice questions
Day 23: Final Speaking Practice: Everyday Topics
- Mock TEF Speaking Task: Describing your daily life
Day 24: A1 Final Review & Test
- Grammar Quiz: Past & future tense review
- Listening Test: Comprehension of basic dialogues
- Speaking Task: Answering 5 simple questions fluently
Day 25: A1 Certification & Feedback Session

FINAL OUTCOME (AFTER 25 DAYS)
